PARIS (Sputnik) - Over 1,000 individuals have been condemned in France over the yellow vest dissents that have been seething in the nation since mid-November 2018, French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said on Monday.

"More than 1,000 sentences have been given altogether. Around 5,600 individuals have been confined since the start of the [protest] development," Philippe said as communicated by TF1.

The yellow vest dissents, named after the mandatory property of French drivers, were at first activated by arranged diesel cost increment, yet then developed into a more extensive development against government approaches.
